Colorado's Colleen DeReuck is still competing with the top runners in the world of long-distance running AND winning at age 46. Here is a video about her career and her latest victory, but first a little history:
- In 2004, at age 39, Colleen won the U.S. Olympic Marathon Trials
- She became the women's overall USA 20K (12.5 miles) Champion on Labor Day 2009, at age 45.
- In May of 2010, now 46, she won the Copenhagen Marathon in a blazing 2:30:51 (beating all the elite women and all but 6 of the men)
Enjoy this interview of an elite runner who is showing that maybe age really is merely a number.
